Julia Frances Vericella presents her lived experience in several series of cinematic autobiographical self-portraits. Her work explores the shadow side of private life, organized religion, and the terrain of mental health. Vericella’s utilization of dream-like surrealism begs a dissection of the many systems and stigmas which orchestrate modern life.

Vericella (b. 1991) was raised in Los Angeles and now lives in Savannah, GA. Vericella received her completed a summer session at Pratt in 2008 and received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2013 and lives and works in Savannah, GA.
